At least in one phase of your life, study Bach, play Bach, analyse him, listen to him, try to grasp him - whether you use a guitar, accordion, cello or marimba.
Every artist has specific creative procedures, his own systems, and particular methods. While creating, he both exploits his strengths and inevitably struggles with problems too. However, in addition to all that search, discovery and refinement, creation is also about the moment of DECISION.
It’s up to you to create that precious moment in which the whole garden falls silent in anticipation, a moment dedicated to and focused on your performance.
In the pro-acoustic camp, you're likely to hear utterances like "Nothing can beat the live instrument". And it's true that while playing on acoustic piano, you might argue that you experience the "real" sound. The sound that's physically produced by the hammer that makes the string vibrate with each keystroke.
The real magic occurs when you connect the dots between the composition's form – as written in the sheet – and the way a particular musician interprets it. Only then you're ready to enjoy yourself fully. As usual, the holy grail is somewhere in the middle.
Sometimes, music dazzles you the first time you listen. You may not even know why. It just clicks. You go to a random concert, you listen to Fantastic Symphony without necessarily knowing that's what it's called or who wrote it... and yet you leave stunned. Because you enjoyed it, because you felt comfortable, because the orchestra played so beautifully…
Never be afraid to set your goals high. Even if they seem unachievable. It doesn't matter whether you'll fulfil them, the act of creating them is in itself incredibly important. Their constant presence doesn't let you go astray. They're there to show you the way. Without goals and ambitions, people wander aimlessly and get lost. Not to mention that if you get lucky enough to achieve some of them, it is the best thing in the world. And the best motivation to set new ones.
There are many reasons to study a particular piece of music. You can get captivated by the complexities of a specific composition, or you can only be drawn to its central theme, which eventually kindles a desire to grasp the work in its entirety.
In 2022 we will pivot a little bit,
and instead of our classical episodes – we will bring you:
Unique Piano Lessons,
present more artists and bring to you their short concerts,
and shoot some documentaries as well.
We hope you will enjoy it!
Thank you
